Bayou Bacchanal was founded by Caribbean Carnival / Friends of Culture a non-profit organization of New Orleans in 2001. The founder and President is Marilyn LaForce who is originally from Saint Lucia, an exotic island in the Caribbean. She founded Bayou Bacchanal in 2001 to bring the Caribbean Carnival and culture to New Orleans.



President's Message

In many cities around the world, this Caribbean style festival brings in millions of visitors to participate in a soul uplifting, distinctly stylish, memorable event meant for the whole family.

Organization History

Caribbean Carnival / Friends of Culture was registered as a non-profit in Louisiana on June 22, 2001 by Marilyn LaForce. As President, Marilyn has organized the Bayou Bacchanal working with various groups and diplomats around the world. Her non-profit organization raises money to fund the Bayou Bacchanal and contributes the remaining proceeds to groups like the International School of Louisiana, which teaches children how to play the steel drums. Since the organization's founding, Caribbean Carnival / Friends of Culture relies on donations and its sponsors.
